The Grand-borough Chef

I couldn’t find a more appropriate title for my project than “The Grand-borough Chef”. With this title, I reference the life of Mario Rooza and the creativity between him and food.

Just like the title, the context is an autobiography which explores the life of Mario as a chef and the exploration of his imagination within the kitchen.

Gaining influences from publications of chefs such as Massimo Battura and Lornezo Rui, I want to acknowledge the importance of the chef within the pub trade.  

Combining photography with the food industry embarked on this collaborative project in which myself and Mario spent a majority of three months visualizing, learning and performing to show the importance of the pub trade.

People under estimate what goes on within the four walls of the kitchen alongside the artistic abilities needed to create such pleasurable food.

This series of photographs demonstrates the insides within the life of the grand-borough chef.
